A famous story for children from Pavol Dobšinský’s collection. It is about a goat that scares away many, even strong and fearless animals, but in the end a small brave one finds a way to deal with her.


It was a beautiful
As soon as they had laid out their picnic blanket, the twin girls took off their clothes and ran to the water. The grass tickled their bare feet and they giggled
"Oh, how nicely it tickles," Margaret cooed.
Agatha knelt down and stroked the grass: "Mmm, how lovely it
"Yikes, this hand is burning hot," Margaret yelped as her bare feet touched the sand by the water.
"Sand, with a ‘s’," laughed their mother, who was following close behind.
"Why is it so hot?" Agatha asked, pouring sand from one palm to the
"Well, because the sun warmed it up."
"Sunshine! Hello, sunshine," Margaret exclaimed, holding her little hand out to the sky and waving to the sun.
Agatha was the first to dip her toes into
"Me too, me too!" Her sister stepped straight into the water with both feet. "It's nicely cool," Margaret announced happily and promptly sat down in the water.
All at once, something green jumped out of the pond. It landed on a rock that was poking up through the water just in front of the sisters.
"Look, Agatha, an alien!" Margaret stuck out her finger and pointed at the strange creature.
"That's not an alien," laughed their mother, "that's a frog."
"A log? I’ve never seen a jumping log before," Agatha wondered.
"A frog, not a log. Look, tadpoles are swimming in the water next to the frog. Those are its babies," their mother explained.
