In this story, you will meet three friends: a strong and brave Tyrannosaurus called Rex, a wise and clever Pterodactyl called Dacky, and a lazy, good-natured Triceratops called Tucky.
Each of them was different, both in shape and in character. Dacky flew like a dragon and could always come up with a solution to any problem. He was neither a dinosaur nor a bird, Dacky was a pterosaur.
Rex was one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs. He had muscular legs and powerful jaws that could bite three times harder than a lion. Surprisingly, though, Rex was very friendly and helped others out whenever he could.
Tucky had horns on his head and was what you might call bull-headed. Stubborn. When he set his mind to something, it simply had to be done. He loved just lazing around, eating plants.
At school, the three friends were inseparable. One fine, sunny day, they went on a school trip with their class and their teacher, Anka, from the ankylosaur family.
The smaller dinosaurs in the class scurried along like a herd, while the larger ones stomped along behind. Their walk took them up a steep hill, which was actually a volcano.
Suddenly everyone felt the ground shake. Their teacher Anka knew this meant that the volcano was about to erupt, so she called out to the dinosaurs:
“Everyone turn round and go back down, the volcano is waking up!”
The dinosaurs started running down the hill, but Rex couldn’t see Tucky or Dacky anywhere. He couldn’t just leave them behind, so he started searching for his friends.
Then he saw Tucky with his leg stuck in a rock. He couldn’t get it out. Hot lava was already flowing towards him. Rex ran over…
