Once upon a time there lived a young dinosaur princess. She belonged to the Stegosaurus family. Steggie, as everyone called her, was kind and thoughtful. She enjoyed dressing up, especially with her shiny crown on, and she was very studious.
Steggie loved reading books. She was wise and knew everything best. At least, that’s what she told everyone else. She always liked to teach what she knew to others, and often she would tell the king’s advisors what to do. They didn’t like that at all, and one day they left the kingdom.
“You see, Dad?” the princess told her father. “They don’t even know how to behave! I will advise you. I know everything, better than they did,” she suggested confidently.
The dinosaur king smiled and said to her: “Alright then, my dear. If you are so wise, I will give you three riddles. If you can answer all three correctly, I will admit that you are the smartest of them all. If not, you will find the advisors, apologize to them and bring them back.”
“Now then,” her father continued, “what is always ahead of you, but you can’t see it?”
Steggie thought hard, but she couldn’t work out what it could be.
“Now for the second riddle, my daughter,” the king said. “Brachius’s father has three sons. Brontus, Berty and...?”
Steggie started getting angry: “What kind of question is that?” she grumbled. “How am I supposed to know? I don’t even know them!”
“I’ll give you one last riddle,” said the king. “It has four legs, but no head. What is it?”
Steggie thought for a few minutes, but couldn’t come up with an answer.
