For many many years, a legend has travelled around the world. It tells the story of a mountain range deep inside a dark and twisted forest that hides a very special mountain. Everyone calls it Mount Trap, because they believe it devours the unwary. But why would it do such a thing? Well, apparently, there is a great treasure buried deep inside it, greater than any other treasure known to mankind. And those hungry for gold always fall for the bait. As soon as they find Mount Trap, sitting silently in the forest with its dark cave entrance drawing them in, they can’t resist - and each time they enter it right away. Then travellers get trapped, when the mountain lures them in with sweet promises to give them all the treasures hidden inside. As soon as they walk in, it shuts its mouth behind them… And there is no way out. No one knows why the mountain does it.
One day, a traveller was walking through the forest. You might think he was searching for treasure, but he wasn’t. He was happy with what he had. He simply enjoyed fresh air and wandering around the world. Pushing through the dense bushes, he chanced upon a wrinkled old lady. Crouched, she was carrying nothing but a few twigs on her back. But she was hunched over almost as if these were three heavy beech trunks.
“Hang on there, lady, let me help you,” said the traveller, already taking her burden on his own shoulders.
“Thank you, kind lad, thank you. I’m old and weak and can’t do much on my own. This wood is to make fire at my hut – I live just there, behind those trees,” said the old woman.
So on they went together, until…
